Zoë and I were climbing back into the protective shell of our vehicles yesterday when, like a 3-year-old, I blurted out my secret.
“I think I’m going to make a Christmas playlist for Sunday.”
She laughed. I laughed. We said goodbye and we drove away.
I think she thought I was kidding, but I was serious! I’ve been thinking about it for a while. And, the race is after Thanksgiving so it’s socially acceptable (even though…ahem…ready for another secret?…I’ve been listening to holiday songs since Nov. 1…don’t judge!).
How awesome would it be to run to Christmas music? Totally awesome!
I made up a playlist already, but I haven’t run to it yet. I’ve been listening to it a lot in the car, though, and today I started having second thoughts.
Some of these songs don’t seem fast enough.
So I may mix some faster holiday tunes in with a little ’80s, Pink, Gwen and whatever else seems peppy. I didn’t had time to do that today, though. Mondays are always hectic: grocery shopping, cleaning, errands and getting ready for the week ahead. For example, I have a bed piled with clean laundry that needs to be folded, which is why I’m quickly and awkwardly going to wrap up this post.
Tonight, I did 75 crunches while balancing on Mr. Bouncy, three sets of 15 biceps curls and lateral raises with Dumb and Dumber, and 40 lunges (20 on each side). My legs are the teeniest bit sore from yesterday’s run. But it’s a good sore. And I can already feel my lunges. Also, I didn’t drink enough water throughout the day and it caught up with me. I’m parched. So I’m getting in a late 22 ounces to reach my total, which means I will probably be up a lot in the night. *sigh*

Interesting. I'm not sure I could run to a Christmas playlist… but then again I hadn't thought of it. I'd definitely need to have some up-tempo songs.I'm running a race on Dec. 6 so maybe I'll throw in some Christmas songs too. I guess I'll wait to see how it works out for you first before I start making a playlist.
On my way down to Orting to meet Amanda this weekend there was Christmas music on one of the radio stations, I turned the station as QUICK AS I COULD. I Love the muscis the week before Christmas, I could NEVER NEVER run to it. Wow.. I hope it keeps you Jolly in your race.. to each her own 🙂
I like Christmas music but don't think I could run to it but if it works for you then I say go fot it.
There's nothing wrong with Christmas music at all! 🙂 Can you run to it though? I take that back…Run Run Rudolph by the Muppets would be perfect! Ha ha! 🙂
I've been listening to Christmas songs too… I like the feelings they evoke.
I think your idea sounds fun–for a little while anyway…enjoy it!
There is NO WAY I could ever run to Christmas music … I can't stand it. But maybe it would make me run faster just so that I could stop listening to it sooner. But if I had to listen to it, I would rock to Transiberian Orchestra … the only xmas music I can tolerate … it would totally get me pumped! Maybe I will add them to my play list now that I think about it. Good luck!Oh – and I love that your verification word was textes … too funny!
lol, whatever gets you moving, don't think i could do it either though lol
