No workout for me today. I’ve been feeling really run down for a few days. I was hoping the feeling would be gone when I woke up this morning, but it wasn’t, and the next few hours didn’t help.
We were scheduled to drop the sad minivan off at the shop this morning and pick up a rental car. I still had to clean out the van, and that took me a good half hour. But I found my sunglasses!
Anyway, I quickly fed T Junior and Mr. T fed the dogs and we got all ready to go.
After the accident on Thursday, I was low on gas, so I knew we’d have to stop for fuel before we drove the 30 minutes to the fix-it place. Mr. T had to yank out the seatbelt in the van so that I could get it on. T Junior rode with him in The ‘Bu (the new name for his Malibu thanks to Zoë). They followed me to the gas station, which is about a mile away.
Because the seatbelt wants to retract and not “tract” (?), I stayed buckled up in the van and Mr. T pumped some gas. Then I turned the car back on.
CLICK-CLICK-CLICK-CLICK.
Huh?
CLICK-CLICK-CLICK-CLICK.
Seriously?
The van died. And I couldn’t even figure out how to get it into neutral. So, it sat at the pump while I called all the necessary places in order to get it towed, etc. What a pain! But I have to say, so far, the insurance company of the man who was at fault in the accident, has been very helpful. I won’t say who it is until the ordeal is all over with in case my good feelings change and I have to vent.
We figured out the neutral thing and rolled it away from the pump, left the keys under the mat and drove The ‘Bu to the shop to pick up a gray Chevy HHR rental. I’m so glad to have transportation again!
I just wish I felt good enough to go somewhere.

OMG, you are not having luck with that van lately! Time to trade that sucker in! Easy to feel run down this time of year… hang in there and get some rest!
I think you spilled the beans with the insurance company on the original post 🙂 If that's the one, then it's a good company since we've been with it for more than 10 years now and we've never had any issues.I got into a minor accident in August (a day before my birthday!) and the insurance company I dealt with (it wasn't my fault) was very, very nice to me and I would have nothing but nice things to say about them. I think the companies go out of their way to be nice to others when their client hits someone else. That company's name shall remain nameless… but I will say that it rhymes with Late Parm 😀
I started cringing as soon as you started writing about the mini van… it just seemed bound to be a problem again! Hopefully it gets fixed good at the shop!
OMG, seriously? I think you might have a lemon, if ever there were such a thing with Hondas. Hope it all works out for you.
Get rid of the van!! It's pure evil!! Here's to hoping things turn around!
Bummer. Bummer. Bummer. Sounds like you and the van are at odds …. On a happier note, I'm catching up on blog reading today (since I'm home sick!), and am seeing your 'updated' look for the first time…love the photos and your profile is updated, too, I think?? Anyway, looks awesome!! BTW – thanks for stopping by last night.. yes, the nephews had a blast at the Reindeer Run! Hugs from Orlando!r.
