T Junior and I walked with a neighbor and her three-year-old son this evening on the trail.
It was fun having a workout buddy. We chatted and tried to keep the boys happy by bribing them with juice and water and crackers. I thought we were in trouble when I ran out of Ritz, but ta-da! I saw a little corner of a package of graham crackers down deep in the back pocket of the BOB. Saved!
During the walk, I mentioned today was the 20th day of my mom vs. marathon routine.
“You know 21 days makes it a habit, right?” she asked.
Um, no. I did not know that.
“Really?”
So, of course, I came home and looked it up. Actually, I came home, fed T Junior some left over rigatoni noodles and warmed-up broccoli, scrubbed his dirt-blackened knees in the bathtub, put his monkey jammies on (well, technically, Mr. T did that part), read him four board books, sang him a soft lullaby and put him in his crib. And, then I looked it up.
And, look what I found!
Um, a blog about making running a habit? Hello? That’s right up my alley…er…trail!
I have, of course, lots of blogs I go to for inspiration. Take a peek, they’re on my blogroll on the right side of the page. These runners help keep me going, and most of them probably don’t even know it.
So, my neighbor was totally right. Not that I doubted her; I was just curious. I’m looking forward to my run tomorrow.
My 21st day.
