Day 237-238: Quick Update

  • Kerrie

DAY 237
Thursdays are so tough! It’s the end of my little work-week and I’m always so wiped.

This day was no different. I was mentally and physically worn out. It was all I could do to get through dinner. How was I going to go for a nighttime 3-miler?

The answer: I wasn’t.

Running is supposed to be fun. Last night, it felt like a chore. I suck at chores. It’s why my house looks the way it does. So, I skipped it.

Yup.

I skipped strength training, too. (But I also skipped dessert.)

DAY 238
I was so groggy at 6 a.m. this morning I did not want to get up. I wanted to stay snuggled in my flannel sheets.

But I got up and I got ready for 3. I made half of a PB&J sandwich, which was yummy, and had half a glass of water. It was raining outside. Spring rain. Big drops, not the normal Seattle mist.

I felt okay, except for my legs. They felt like Jell-O. I wanted to walk after Mile 2, but I pushed through it. Got it done.

Then, I got some more stuff done. I cleaned (chores!) because my sister was going to be arriving soon from New Orleans.

3/12/10 – 3.10 Miles – 31:51
Average pace: 10:16
Mile 1: 10:39
Mile 2: 10:08
Mile 3: 10:07
.10 miles: 9:24 (average pace)

COMING UP: Going to try for 10-12 miles tomorrow. Lucy is showing in the Seattle dog show tomorrow afternoon and Sunday morning. And, my sister and her boyfriend are here so we will have a full weekend!

Way to go on getting up early and running. I need to do that, but I am sooo lazy. Props to you!

I think it's important to take a break on those days when you're just not feeling it. Sometimes we have to push through, but it needs to stay fun!Have a great weekend.

It's funny how sometimes I just do not want to workout no matter what and other days I jump out of bed to go and run.
