Day 26: Should I Stay or Should I Go?

I kinda didn’t want to do 3 miles today. It was raining this morning — real rain, not mist — and, I still had quite a bit of cleaning to do. I also had a headache.

But, I know myself.

If I miss a day, it’s an invitation to skip another day. If I’m gonna choose not to go, it better be a really good reason.

So, I went. I got ready during T Junior’s nap and when he woke up, it had stopped raining. I changed him, got his sippy cup, some crackers and a cheese stick, strapped him in the BOB, stashed the rain sheild (just in case), and we went.

It was a great run — 44 minutes — and I felt like I could run all afternoon. My breathing was steady and my legs felt strong. Even the stroller seemed to glide easily over the trail. The only thing bothering me a little was a sore left ankle and aching knees.

I think it may be time to get new shoes.
