Days 283-285: Nerves

All I can think about is 18 miles tomorrow. Don’t ask me what I did Thursday (283) because I can’t remember. I think…nothing. Yep, nothing.

Now, Day 284. I gathered up T Junior and took us to the gym for a little bike ride. I rode for 35 minutes and read my book (Love the One You’re With by Emily Giffin), and then changed my clothes. We had errands to do. I picked up another $7 running tank (Danskin — so soft!) from Walmart and a pair of running shorts (also Danskin, also cheap).

Day 285 is today. Since I didn’t make it to REI on Friday, I went today. I got two more pods from my belt and a new, bigger pocket that should hold my Zune better than the old one. Hopefully the bigger pocket size won’t bother me tomorrow.

I’m nervous about my run in the morning. I got everything ready ahead of time, so all I need to do is eat breakfast, get dressed and go. I’m not normally nervous. I wasn’t for 16. Why 18? It’s only 2 more miles, right?

    I am running 15.25 tomorrow and will send some happy running vibes your way! I know I will hit a wall tomorrow ,of some kind anyways. I will just keep on keepin on with one foot in front of the other until it passes.My mind will mess with me but I will keep going and it all will pass and eventually at least for me, its worse to think of stopping than to keep going!Have a great run and try to have a good time 🙂

    You're nervous because you're human and 18 miles is freaking far! But guess what, 16 miles was freaking inhumanly far too so really you're only doing what you did last week plus a little tiny percentage… and extra 20 or so minutes… that's not a big deal. You'll do great. p.s. I love my amphipod belt and I think the bigger pocket TOTALLY holds things better and didn't feel any diffferent than the small one while running. It's able to hold my phone securely in the pocket closest to your body and then the bigger, looser pocket was great for a bag of energy beans or whatnot.Great luck!
