Equipment

  • Kerrie

The nice thing about running is that you don’t need a lot of expensive equipment. But, there are some things that are nice to have.

Footwear: First, of course is a decent pair of shoes. Mine are pink-and-white (well, sorta more grayish now) New Balances. I don’t know what model they are, though. They are good, but they are a couple of years old. I think I’ll be ready for a real pair of runners around my birthday at the end of September (Mr. T, this is a hint).

Jogging Stroller: This is a necessity if you are a mom and a runner. I was lucky. Our close family friends gave us their old BOB. I think it’s an earlier model, but it works great! Thanks, guys!

Rain Gear: This is Seattle, after all. For Christmas, I asked for a rain cover for the BOB and my sister came through. (See, even back in December during weeks and weeks of snow, I was thinking about running. But that was all I was doing: thinking.) Here it is.

That’s all I need currently, besides some crackers for T Junior during his ride. I don’t really feel right about listening to my Zune when he’s with me. I’ll have to do my longer solo runs on the weekends or at night, so I guess I will be needing it eventually.
