I’m not sure what’s going to happen today.
T Junior woke up early, which means he’ll probably nap sooner than later. Great for making my book club meeting at noon, bad for getting any kind of running or jogging or walking in this morning before the sun makes its full appearance.
It’s supposed to be record-breaking hot today. Still, I feel a little like a wimp.
When I ran on the cross country team in high school, we went out pretty much no matter what. I remember temperatures being close to 100 in our Northern California town and we were on a 5-mile run. But I also remember stumbling in the door of a Chinese restaurant and asking for ice. The very concerned people there got us some paper cups filled with frozen cubes of water, and we walked the second half of our route.
It’s not just about me and my goals anymore. I won’t subject my son to 95-degree temperatures as he sits cradled in the canvas seat of the BOB. I’m just going to have to find something else to do for exercise today.
I see the mall in my future.
