Want to increase your speed? Try the Cadence Drill, which you can learn about from Olympian Jeff Galloway in the video below. It’s interesting because I just read about these in Runner’s World this morning. It really seems like a good way to ease into speed work.
Here’s a description of the Cadence Drill from Jeff’s team:
The Jeff Galloway Cadence Drill combines physical and mental training to increase speed. It is common sense that the number of steps you take while running will make you faster. Performing this :30 second interval training, 4-8 times, once a week, will help you accomplish your goal. Let’s get training.
Have you done these before? What did you think?

I really like these videos, and think about them when I'm out running. I've never done these drills, but I'm going to try them!
I really like this. For slow runners like me I think this is a good way to ease into speed work. Think I'll give it a try soon.
Can't wait to try this, thank you. I totally used the last video's info during my marathon on Sunday (short strides).
I haven't done this but am going to try it. I do the run/walk intervals for long runs/marathon training. Love it!Winks & Smiles,Wifey
