Three Things Thursday: Rotary Run 10K at Issaquah Salmon Days Preview

  • Kerrie

1. Sunday is the Issaquah Rotary Run 10K at Issaquah Salmon Days. I have three goals, an A-goal and a B-goal, and a C-goal. My A goal is a little lofty, but you gotta dream big, right?

A. Under 50 minutes
B. PR
C. Gorge on Kettle Corn post-race

I know I will, at the very least, achieve my B-goal, since this was my very first race in 2009. I ran it in 1:10:43. I will run fast on the flat course, but I will not be upset if I do not meet my A-goal. I will, however, be upset if I do not meet my C-goal. My stomach was pretty unstable after my sub-2 half, so hopefully that doesn’t happen again.

2. I’m not sure what I am going to wear Sunday. Thus, I have three ideas. I’d love your feedback. Weather: Partly cloudy and probably be in the low-50’s, which is chillier than it has been.

Outfit A:
Theme: Harness the power of my Hood to Coast Relay teammates
Camo capri RunningSkirt
White Nike tech-tee

Outfit B:
Theme: My first marathon
Black Nike Tempo shorts with pink piping
Pink “It’s All About Attitude” Nike tech-tee
White CEP compression socks

Outfit C:
Theme: Support mah Cougs!
Crimson WSU logo Nike Tempo shorts with white piping
Crimson WSU logo Nike Dri-fit tee
White CEP compression socks

Outfit D:
Theme: Harness my sub-2 half
Purple RuningSkirt
White Nike tech-tee
Purple RunLove compression socks

3. I’m crazy busy. Too busy for this post, in fact.

That A goal is not lofty given your recent half marathon. Trust me!!My vote is for Outfit D – harness that power!!!

Go with D (and not just because you would be purple like a Husky!). Good luck, you are going to kill this race, you are so well trained right now.

I vote for C–go Cougs! Plus, I think wearing similar outfits in different races would be confusing when looking back on photos in later years (or maybe that's just me, already planning my senility).

Outfit A because running in camo means you’re a solider…or you at least look like one 🙂 and reminiscent of HTC you will feel inspired to “roadkill””

I say go for Outfit C in the spirit of fall sports. Also, definitely don't do capris. You'll be running faster than normal = higher body temp. Plus, it's not very long, right? You figure add 10 degrees for the “feels like” factor while running and that puts you in the low 60's. PERFECT!! You will make that sub 50!

It outfit D worked well in the 1/2, maybe its power's will help you achieve your A goal! In track back in highschool I had lucky underwear AND a lucky sports bra- nothing wrong with a whole lucky outfit!
