1. 250 Virtual Running Buddies! Thank you so much for sharing this journey with me. This is such a wonderful community of supportive runners…*sniff*…I’m getting emotional.
2. Yesterday, I had a great run with another running blogger buddy: Mell – Tall Mom. We set out at lunch and it was HOT. Well, hot for the Pacific Northwest in mid-March. It was like 60 or something. We were not dressed appropriately. Luckily, our sleeves rolled up. She had 7 miles and I ran 3.33 with her. Can I just say that my running buddies have magical speed powers? I mean, first Zoë and I run Mile 16 at a 9:37 pace, then today I’m running and laughing with Mel when I look at my watch and see a sub-9 pace. Yeah, we slowed down after that. This is why Mile 2 was a 9:04.
3. The thing with running buddies is you confess things to them. I’ve confessed to two of mine now that I want to find a marathon to enter before Seattle Rock ‘N’ Roll (which will be my first full). I just feel ready. I know I’m not done with my training. Yeah, yeah. Details, details. No, I mean…what if I could find one in early May? I just want to run it. Now. Am I nuts?

No, you're not nuts! There's one down here in Orange County (CA) in early May ….
The OC Marathon is on May 1! Doesn't get much earlier than that 🙂 Plus, Disneyland is in the OC, case ya hadn't heard. Just sayin'…
Come down to Eugene on May 1.
OMG, I was just thinking too… I don't want to wait until October to run the full. I may, just may, target one earlier. I'll see how my 15 goes this weekend…Congrats on 250! You're so easy to love! 🙂
Capital City BABY!! Small race in Olympia, there are a few hills, but you could walk those, they give great race gear not sure if you get a medal.. not much crowd support and you may be solo for some miles, but it is mid May.
UHM and if you do Capitol City you fo sho' be havin' some friends down to cheer you on! *ahem*
You could do the Kirkland Half in May, I know you said a full but the Kirkland half is going to be my first Half Marathon.
Love how fired up you are! Love those speedy legs and time with friends!
I soooo need more friends that run [like within 50 miles of me]. ;)YAY you!!See you at RNR seattle?!
Windermere in Spokane is May 14th! FLAT course from Post Falls to downtown Spokane. All on the Centennial Trail- My sister-in-law and i will be doing it as our first full too!
YAY BUDDIES!Trust me, I KNOW that feeling of being ready now… but trust your training plan and follow through with it. Another 6 weeks of training will only be beneficial in the end and make that distance even more manageable for you.
Another vote for Capital City on May 15! I am doing the half in a Team Sparkle traveling skirt and would love to see you there. And yes, I totally agree that you are ready. Think of all those miles you've put in and all that speed you've unleashed. I wish you were doing the Lake Samm half on Saturday. You would totally kill it!
Totally understand. I'm kinda wishing I was doing a marathon sooner than Portland! Maybe Bellingham, though it's only 2 weeks sooner. How about Capital City Marathon in May? Or even better, the Vancouver Marathon on May 1 (BC)?
