1. Running with friends. After Sunday’s 12-miler, I couldn’t wait to run with my buddies again. Even though the first WeROKC — Women Runners of King County — group run is this coming Sunday (e-mail me if you want to join!), I just couldn’t wait! So, I texted Mel to see if she wanted to meet me for a lunch run Wednesday. She did!

Me and Mel (post-run for me, mid-run for her) looking fab in our pink jackets! |
We both showed up in pink and we didn’t even plan our outfits! I got in almost a half mile before we met and then we hit the local trail for another three. We were running at a 9:48 average pace (which is on the quick side for me), but it didn’t feel like it. We were able to chat the whole time! Big difference from our last lunch run (which was in 2009 here – holy cow – didn’t realize it was that long ago), when I could barely breathe, let alone talk!
2. Wasa Light Rye Crispbread. Hello, delicious crunchy, light snack. Super yummy slathered in Laughing Cow light swiss cheese (30 calories per wedge). Surprisingly, a plain crispbread is a nice accompaniment to a cup of coffee, too! Sixty calories for two big slices? Yes, please!
3. Giving stuff away. Sure, I love winning stuff, but giving it away is really fun, too! (Have you entered the NUUN giveaway yet? It ends Sunday.)

Doesn't get much better than a nice run over lunch with a friend!Mmm, I haven't had LC cheese in forever. For some reason it never catches my eye at the grocery store. Thanks for the tip!
I LOVE your pink attire!! 🙂 And love the big smiles!Love Wasa crackers, those things rock.Ok Nuun, here I come!!
Love Wasa and Laughing Cow Cheese!!I'm also into Mini BabyBel Cheese. YUM.
#2? really? hmm. i've had those before, but it was awhile ago. i think my mom used to put them in my lunch with peanut butter and bananas. hmm. running with friends is SO nice!
I've been having a tough time getting back into running and I know part of the reason is that I'm doing it solo. Running is a bit of a social sport for me and not having the weekend long runs with friends makes it harder for me to enjoy!
You and Mel are adorable and would make long runs so much more enjoyable!!! Are you running the girlfriends half in October????
Try slicing apples very thin and putting them on top of the LC and the Wasa – one of my favorite “After work” snacks!!
pink is always a fabulous color! how wonderful to have a friend to run with.
