I just have a bunch of random thoughts today. I can’t focus!
- I had my hair cut and colored this morning. For the same cost, I could’ve registered for a triathlon or a pricey marathon. I don’t know how much longer I can keep this hair thing up.
- I went to the local triathlon store. I’ve been meaning to go there for a while. But, I need a new bike seat something awful, so I finally went in there. The awesome thing is that they let you try before you buy. So I checked out a seat to try. The woman who worked there was hilarious:Me: When do you want this back?
Her: I don’t know, a week? If you start to piss me off, I’ll call you.Hahaha! As I was checking out the seat, my physical therapist walked in the door. Commence hugs. I really clicked with my PT, and all the people that worked with her. So we chatted for a while and decided we should go biking together (she’s doing the Seattle to Portland ride this year). Then talked female biking problems with the woman (sorry I didn’t get her name) that worked there–the stuff nobody ever tells you about (beyond chafing), you know. My problem: numbness. I hope this seat is better than the one I got with my bike.
- I was supposed to swim this morning. But, because of the hair appointment, I would have had to get up at 5:30 a.m. to get to the pool and swim from 6-7. It’s the public pool, so lap swim hours are limited. Normally, I’d go in the afternoon. Ugh. I’m so exhausted on Fridays. I couldn’t get out of bed. I did finally get up at 7, and go for a scheduled short run, then did my core workout, plus lots of stretching. But I’ve got to get to the pool soon! It’s disappointing because I’ve been hitting all my other workouts this week.
- It was sunny and warmer today! Karsen and I took advantage and played soccer outside. Man, what a difference 50 degrees makes. So nice to get out and move around with my kid.
- It’s also supposed to be sunny tomorrow. I have a bike ride planned with Jill, and I’m so excited! Hope I don’t fall this time!
- I have a freelance copywriting gig starting Monday, so my days are about to get busier. I’m grateful this is happening this month, though, because we are going to Florida in March to visit family and go to DisneyWorld. I cannot wait to take Karsen to DW. He’s totally clueless about what it is. I can’t wait to see his face when we get there!
- I’m 3 days in on doing a 15-minute core workout every day and…OUCH.

I got my hair cut and colored too!!! That was also my excuse for skipping my swim 🙂
What kind of seat are you trying out?
It’s a Prologo Kappa Dea…and as I was typing this Bennie just walked over here with it in his mouth! OMG. Luckily, no teeth marks. The sooner I get this on my bike, the better. I was going to try this other one, but it was $129. This one’s about $80. Geez.
Not sure how the link will work, but I have this one and I love it.

It did work. Thanks!
Ugh, I’ve been trying to get my butt back in the pool too. Once in Jan. Utter fail. Lately I’ve been really missing my bike and outdoor rides… Come on SPRING!!
You’re an animal. I can’t swim very well and envy those who can. Good luck with you’re next Tri!
I hear you on the hair thing. I’m terrible with my hair and wear a ponytail all the time. So I stopped going to the fancy hair places and start going to sport cuts. $17 for wash, cut and dry – awesome!!
