Just got back from my run. Man, I get really red, and it’s not from the sun.
Today, felt pretty good again and I found out (thanks to a friend), about this awesome site called Map My Run that measures your route for you. Turns out it’s just over 2 miles, but I think the second half is a slight incline because, damn, the way back is so much harder.
The good news is that T Junior didn’t laugh every time I blew out when I was controlling my breathing. Yesterday, he was cracking up during most of the second mile.
Today, I had to try to keep him awake for the last 15 minutes or so (total time: 45 minutes, which included walking, stretching and then the running). We’ve got a lot going on today. That was the hardest part of the workout, trying to keep him from falling asleep.
I made squealing car noises and steered the BOB all crazy. That only worked a couple times. I tried to get him to focus on some golden retreivers that were walking ahead of us. “See the doggies?” And I took advantage of every airplane we heard. “T Junior, hear the airplane?” All that talking is hard to do when you’re trying to focus on taking rhythmic breaths and strides.
I figure all this pushing of the BOB and talking to T Junior while I’m huffing and puffing, is just extra training so that when I finally run by myself, it’ll be easier. Right?

I get really red from running too! That just means you're doing something right. 🙂 Keep it up!
