Are you a woman who runs in the King County area?
So I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately and…I want to start a running club/group. Has anyone ever done this? Got any tips or advice?
I just want it to be free — just a group of women who have to get their long run in and don’t want to run alone. We’ll pick a regular meet-up spot and (an early) time, and figure it out from there. Hoping there will be women of all different speeds and distance needs that would want to join.
If you live in or around King County and are interested, e-mail me at kerrie (at) sanitydepartment (dot) com.

Some ladies started up an informal ladies group here in Portland. We use a private Facebook group for most of our organizing, though a bunch of us are on dailymile and Twitter, so we also support each other that way. We try to get together for a brunch run once a month, schedule all kinds of training runs, are putting together a Ragnar NW Passage team, and might even be starting a book club. It has worked out fabulously! Good luck 🙂
You know that I'm totally IN! And I'd love to help!

@Teri – Great ideas, thanks! I actually already organize book group, so I figured this can't be too much different, right?@Zoe, Mel, Carol-Ann: I'm getting sooo excited! I've received interest in email and on FB, too. Mel, thanks for mentioning it on your blog, too!
Weekends are tough for me, but maybe I could join you sometimes? Not sure I can keep up though! I'm right across the county line in Pierce.
I live in Pierce so if there are any runs within a 30min driving distance, I'd make it! That would be very cool.PS. you should totally try and make it to the Run for Tina tomorrow!!
I see this as just another reason to move north! Lucky you guys.
You know I'm in! I'll send the link to all my running friends. Thanks!
I'm always so jealous of you Washington ladies! I'd totally join you if it wasn't a 4 hour drive each morning… :p Have fun!
That's an awesome idea! I loved my running group in Nashville and miss it so much!
=( I mean really it's =) i just hate not being there anymore…Looks like you are going to have a great group!
good luck with your group! if you need more runners, try putting a poster up at a local coffee shop. a guy just started a running group in our community by doing that and it's taking off slowly but surely.
I want in! I live up in S. Snohomish, so if any of the runs are up this way I would love to join in the fun!
