Today, T Junior and I did a 20-minute run. I alternated walking and running. It wasn’t much, but it got my heart pumping and actually made my back feel better (afterward). I also did some crunches on the ball — 50 actually, which is more than I’ve done in two years, so I consider today a success.
I’m thinking I’m going to need some new shoes. Maybe for my birthday. By then, I’ll be able to tell if I’m really gonna stick to my goal of running a half-marathon next summer.
Also, I was thinking earlier today that I should do some 5Ks. Maybe the Jingle Bell Run in Seattle this December.

Kerrie,Looks like our “current running/blogging” journey began about the same time… the Turtles made their way into this world the first week of August '09. Look at you, ambitious one – a marathon! Wow! That's an awesome goal!!! I truly will be VERY happy to complete a 1/2 marathon (or two or three). 🙂 I suppose it helps that you have a foundation from HS. I, in stark contrast, was the furthest you could imagine from an athlete. Have always liked working out in the gym, with free weights, but have TWO left feet! So glad to have FINALLY found your running blog… I'm a little slow, but I get there!
Wow Kerrie. You're goal was to run a half marathon next summer…and that was crossed off the list WAY before that time frame. Congrats! It's been awesome getting to know you and running with you. I'm very lucky to have such a great bloggy running buddy! Full marathon watch out! Kerrie's coming for you! 🙂
Oh my gosh, we are so similar. I am a writer, I'm writing 3 books for kids right now, and one for adult romance, and I am training for a 5K. I have always wanted to be a mom, be a runner, and be a writer. I'm following my dreams too, so you go girl! Good luck!Ammie
Ammie,Same here! Mom, runner, writer! I bet there's a LOT of us out there. Follow your dreams!
