Can you believe it’s been more than 80 days since I started running? I can’t, and I’m the one pounding the pavement!
Last night, still high from my first 10k on Sunday, I couldn’t shut up about doing more races. I heard Mr. T mumble something that sounded like “…poor house” and “…crack.” I didn’t catch the actual sentence, but I got the idea. Then, he suggested one race per month. That seemed like a good idea to me, too. Sooooooo…what’s going on in December?
I ran during my lunch hour today, only this time I wasn’t so sneaky. I know co-workers saw me in my running clothes. Ugh. It’s not my best look.
Anyway, I was scheduled for 3.5 miles, which I thought I got close to, but not according to MapMyRun.com. They said I only did 2.89. Well, at least I did it. Did something.
I’m not sure how realistic this lunch-hour-running thing is, though. I was cutting the time pretty close today and if I didn’t even get to 3, then it’s just not going to work in the future. The mileage is increasing and I’m not fast enough to squeeze it in during the work day.
Maybe I’ll do it after work with T Junior in the BOB. But I’ll feel guilty making him hang out in the stroller after he’s been at day care all day. He wants to play with his toys and the doggies. He’s missed them all day long.
Okay, maybe I’ll do it after T Junior goes to bed…in the dark. Does anyone else run at night? How is it? Is it too scary? I’m pretty paranoid…even in my own neighborhood.
Hmmm. Maybe I’ll get up before I go to work to run. At 4:30 a.m. In the dark.
Crap.
I’ll figure it out.
